Safefood Community Food Initiatives
Our Safefood Community Food Initiatives Small group project is progressing well. Our participants are all getting the chance to try new healthy recipes at home with lots of information being shared among the group on how to adapt and tweak the recipes to suit the needs and likes of all the family. Our nutritionist Aine Coleman is giving lots of helpful tips and advice. Links below for this weeks recipes if anyone wants to cook along with us making a tasty Chicken Burrito and a delicious Apple and Berry Crumble – Both recipes from the Safefood ‘101 Square Meals’ Cookbook, which can be downloaded from their website.

We would like to invite you to join us for an hour and fifteen minute to explore anxiety and how you can support young people who may be experiencing anxiety. This will be an informal and interactive space led by the Clinical Manager of Jigsaw Kerry, Elaine O’Sullivan and the Youth and Community Engagement Worker, Caoimhe Keogan.

Biosphere Officer Wanted
We are looking to recruit a Biosphere Officer to join our team. Applicants require a minimum Level 8 qualification 9, in the National Framework of Qualifications, in a subject relevant to Environmental Management. They also need a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a role relating to environmental management/Environmental communication. The position is full time, and will be based at the SKDP Offices, the Old Barracks, Beaufort Village, Co. Kerry with the possibility of hybrid working arrangements. Safefood Community Food Initiative 2022-2024.
South Kerry Development Partnership are delighted to be working with Aine Coleman on a new healthy eating programme funded through the Safefood Community Food Initiative 2022-2024.
We are beginning our programme with a small group project in Killorglin. Aine Coleman will lead this 4 week programme working with participants on improving their cooking skills and their knowledge of healthy eating. Aine has been a registered nutritionist since 2017. She has a BSc in Nutrition & Health Science and MSc in Human Nutrition. Aine’s passion is making nutrition accessible for everyone. Her main area of interest is gut health and helping people improve their relationship with food. Aine currently has her own online practice. Aine also works as a nutrition consultant for other clinics and companies from online consultation to hosting webinars and creating online events etc.
The next small group project will take place in Killarney later this year. Our target group for this project is low income families with children under 12.
