Safe Food Community Food Initiatives 2022-2024
Mairead O’Sullivan and Carol Naughton, SKDP attended the Safe Food Community Food Initiatives 2022-2024 launch last week in Dublin. South Kerry Development Partnership have been chosen as one of the leaders for the Community Food Initiatives 2022-2024. The aim of the project is to positively influence the eating habits of low income families through promoting greater access to and availability of healthy and safe food in low income areas, using a community development approach. SKDP will be organising a number of small projects and community events throughout the year working with families and communities throughout South Kerry.

Rural Development EURI (LEADER) Programme 2014 – 2022
Attached details of an SKDP funding call for projects under the ‘Basic Services targeted at Hard to Reach Communities’ Rural Development (LEADER) Programme sub-theme. SKDP is inviting expressions of interest to be submitted – closing date for EOIs is 8th April 2022. EOIs are also available from the LEADER officers . To be eligible to submit an application for funding – an EOI must be submitted by the deadline date.

Ballykissane Centenary Loop Now Open
Ballykissane Centenary Loop walk now open to the Public. Starting at the Trail head Map Board in the Fair Field in Killorglin, Stroll to Ballykissane pier and walk the Banks of the River Laune where you can take in spectacular views of Castlemaine Harbour and beyond, then follow the trail to the bottom of Reen road and then take the road up to the top of Sun Hill and then back down to Killorglin town where you finish in the Fair field.
Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme 2022
The 2022 scheme will, in particular, support recreational infrastructure that not only provides an outlet for the communities in which they are situated but that also delivers added
value from a tourism perspective, positioning rural areas to respond to the post-COVID-19 economic environment. Closing date for completed Expressions of Interest Form is

Community Support Fund 2022
The Community Support Fund (CSF) 2022 was launched earlier this morning, Monday 31st January, 2022. The CSF 2022 application form is via an online portal and applications should be made online using the following link https://arcg.is/HKnqO. Details of the CSF 2022 are available on KCC’s website www.kerrycoco.ie (under ‘Latest News, ‘Schemes/Funds’ & ‘Apply For It’ tabs on the homepage).
